^Damn. Oh well, Bullocks/Alexander are probably some of our lesser problems...
I thought Bullocks actually started to show some promise toward the end of the season. People were starting to like him a bit.
Right-- I wanted Atogwe to replace Alexander, but Alexander isn't awful so it's okay... I'd rather get someone like Dunta Robinson in FA to go along with a NT.
Dunta would be nice. I hope they look into that...
Sean Jones could be available for safety. Cleveland's not going to franchise him...
Eh.. If we're not getting a stud safety, we may as well give Alexander a shot so we can put the rest of our resources into other positions.
Hold the phone, the Texans just franchised Dunta...
Looks like Bodden & Bly are the best available corners
Asomugha is about to get a long-term deal too, so cross off his name...
DeAngelo Hall?
Also LeRoy Hill, who Killer wrote an article about today on MLive about the Lions possibly targeting, was just franchised by the Seahawks today...
Any word on LBs? I think Scott will be cut loose (Suggs franchised and Lewis will be kept). He said he'd love to play here but are the Lions interested? What about Foote?
It would be nice to get a couple solid vets in there (better than Lennon) so they could shore up the trenches (and maybe add a QB and CB based on value).
Foote took back his "I want to play for the Lions" statement last week, but he's still likely to get cut since he's got a big cap figure.

New coach Jim Schwartz acknowledged Thursday that he's interested in adding ex-Titans to the Lions' roster.

As long as they're not as bad as the ex-Bucs Rod Marinelli brought in. CB Eric King, FS Vincent Fuller, and OT Daniel Loper could be targeted by Schwartz.
I'd take Scott or Foote so long as we don't overpay for either. If not, Stafford/Laurinaitis could be a decent draft... Laurinaitis' biggest weaknesses are fixable (upper body strength will lead to shedding blockers). It's just that he's not really improved in his 3 seasons at OSU, but all of those seasons were stellar, so... Yeah. I'd like to see Laurinaitis put on some more strength and I think he could be a very good MLB in the NFL for a long time.
Yeah, if Stafford really shows he's a franchise QB I would be fine with him and Lauranitus.
The only issue is when do you find a pass rusher? Does one slip to the 2nd?
What are you thinking as a pass rusher? A nose tackle? I think Avril and White are going to be starting day one... I don't see us picking anyone to start ahead of Avril, I don't think we have that luxury.. unless we move Avril to SLB or something.
I'm hoping to get a strong NT in FA so we don't have to reach for Brace at 33.
Avril and White starting...agree
I suppose, but what have they shown? I guess it doesn't hurt to give them a year and see what you've got there.
Supposing it was Stafford and James, do they go CB (2nd), OG (3rd)?
I would think it would be that or the reverse. It's really too early to tell depending on FA... If they go Stafford and Laurinaitis, but still don't have an NT, I could see Ron Brace at 33.
Led the team in sacks... White had more starts, me thinks, but Avril had 5 and he didn't play regularly til the end of the season. I like these 2...specially CA
Avril had something like 5-6 sacks in his 5 starts.
He's my Lion
I wouldn't mind signing a slew of high-upside FA busts like Dewayne Robertson who was just cut by Denver. If nothing else he's cheap and still decent. He's got moreleft in the tank than Chuck Darby.

Colts CB Marlin Jackson was awarded $225,000 in a lawsuit against a Michigan student who accused him of assault in 2003.
The student originally sued for $10 million, claiming that Jackson assaulted him with a bottle at a party. Jackson then countersued, denying use of the bottle and saying that the accusation hurt his draft stock.
Damn straight. Don't be accusin peeps of shit like that, unless they did it.
I'm not a Michigan alum, so I couldn't care less. I just want to be a winner on the majority of the Saturdays in the Fall.
lol...nice
Titans increased offer to FA Haynseworth. This one will be interesting to watch. Tons of money at play here.
They are talking in the neighborhood of 6 years and between 80 - 100 million dollars with a stupid signing bonus. That doesn't even seem fair, but I think he is definitely worth it.Quote:

66 ^ I know, its crazy. The Vikes did it, and hopefully they'll be strapped for a while.
And for a guy who did what 67 says
SHAUN ROGERS WANTS OUT OF CLEVELAND CUZ HE DOESN'T LIKE MANGINI APPARENTLY LOL
I'd take him back if we can get some talent around him. Otherwise, wasted effort at this point in his career. He's making about 6m a year.
Haynesworth could be signing with the Redskins for a deal of 100m plus.

I just read yesterday that the Skins were out of the Haynesworth possibilities.
Good, go sign him to 16 mil. That will leave other holes they can't fill.
The numbers I heard from the start were that if the Titans came up with 13 a season, he'd stay, even though he could get 15-16 on the FA market.
I guess that part is true. The Titans raised their offer, iirc, from 9mil a season to almost 11 on Monday.
What are y'all take on Shaun Rogers and him coming back here.Quote:

This would put them over the top for sure.
^ lol
The Ravens need to pull it to pull it together. It seems like every team is going to be after their guys. Get Ray under contract and then see what happens, but you have some players that are ready to hit FA tomorrow. Get some of those deals done.
Bart's probably going to be the odd man out.

Jim Wyatt, of The Tennessean, reports the agent for Tennessee Titans impending free-agent DL Albert Haynesworth, Chad Speck, shot down a rumor that his client had a deal in place with the Washington Redskins that will pay him $15-$16 million a year as part of a $100 million deal. "Albert is not allowed to have a deal with another team and he doesn't have a deal with another team,'' Speck wrote in a statement late Tuesday, Feb. 24. "We continue to keep the lines of communication open with Tennessee. The rumors suggesting that a deal is in place between Albert and the Washington Redskins is completely false."

CB is the first position of need, no question. I'd also like to see them upgrade the receiving core.
