Not defending, discussing.Quote:

how can i have a 'discussion' with something that has no brain? I just realized I might as well be typing in messages to a pop can.Quote:

Now here's the problem with this post I'm making, It really serves no purpose. Your argument, or 'discussion', was beaten already. That's why your last post didn't have anything new to offer. It was more like an imate that is about to be executed saying his last words. You just felt you had to say something, and despite having no new observation, perspective or even witty insults to throw out you typed this dumb shit. I'm under your skin now, but you're already dead. Now i'm going to let you bury yourself.
...and you're still wrong. I didn't defend it. I described it. You're too stupid to understand that distinction so you keep making yourself look like an idiot. Keep digging, it's fun to watch.Quote:

The problem with racism is, it means different things to different people.
"that man called me a nigger".
If that's the worst thing that Dr. King had to deal with, he wouldn't have needed a dream.
If you haven't been a victim of true hate racism, you have no room to talk about it.
I'm included in this group.
U of M is actually a pretty good example of how the effects of affirmative action on whites are grossly exaggerated. The fall 2005 freshman class was 7% african american, 63% caucasian. Those numbers have been pretty steady going back over the last five years, yet opponents of affirmative action will make it sound like whites are being shut out or oppressed by it. The truth is that all it does is make sure that a few fully qualified people who aren't white actually get a shot.Quote:

According to a friend of mine who works in admissions there, the key isn't the total numbers of admissions, becuase that number reflects a percentage of the applications.
The number that was 'audited' so to speak by the goverment a few years back was the qualifiers. In other words, an Asian student with a 27 ACT score and a 3.45GPA would get accepted, but the white student that has a 29 ACT and a 3.70 GPA would get declined.
It's hard to justify this in large frame of mind, but when you look at closer cases, it's still around.
The problem with the whole idea of racism isn't even related to this, and I'll admit that I was just taking a pot shot at UofM with it.. but it's a whole other discussion that is valid.
I'm rambling.
