By Zach Links [July 22, 2011 at 7:22pm CST]
The Tigers and Dodgers have had dialogue about a deal that would send Hiroki Kuroda to Detroit, sources tell Ken Rosenthal and Jon Paul Morosi of FOX Sports. However, other teams remain involved and a trade is not yet close.
The Rangers and Indians are among the other teams with interest in Kuroda, according to major-league sources. We also heard this week that the Red Sox also inquired on the veteran hurler.
The 36-year-old's no-trade clause could potentially be a stumbling block in any deal. It has been rumored that Kuroda would decline trades to the East Coast.
Kuroda signed a one-year, $12MM deal with the Dodgers before this season.
If we give up a bunch of good prospects for any of the names being talked about, I am going to be more than a little upset.
FistingForTwo had to have been one of the biggest busts in WTF history.
randyblacklad, too.
Fister looks good... his last 4 starts are consistent... the 4 prior that are even better... he's gonna give you 7 solid innings every start.... with this bullpen the W's would follow.... the most run support he got all year was 5.
I understand what DrRay is saying... this could be our next Doyle Alexander (we all know what we gave up in that deal).
You only give up a guy like Turner if you are getting a #2 caliber starter, at worst, think Ubaldo.
If the Mariners want to give us Fister and a bad contract for a B-level prospect and maybe some cash, then that would be rock solid.

I think Fister is fine but nothing special. If that's our big acquisition I'll be pretty disappointed. He's gotten rich off Safeco and starts against the A's, Nationals, Padres, Angels, etc. He doesn't have the stuff to win in the big time, imo.
Ubaldo's hurt or something, I want no part of him, especially not for Turner. He's lost 2-3 MPH on his fastball.
