Nicole Richie Arrested for DUI in Los Angeles, Report

Pin thin reality TV show starlet Nicole Richie has been arrested under suspicion of driving under the influence according to a published report. The actress was allegedly driving an SUV against traffic on the 134 freeway in Burbank and she was stopped by the California Highway Patrol, reports AOL Entertainment website TMZ.Com.

The story is developing, but preliminary reports from the website indicate that the Richie was arrested for DUI early Monday morning. She was booked at 4:50 AM today and was released 45 minutes ago.

According to the report the booking sheet put Richie at 5'1" and 85 lbs.

TMZ has learned that Nicole Richie was arrested for DUI early Monday morning. She was booked at 4:50 AM today and was released around 7:15 this morning. The booking sheet reveals Richie is 5'1" and 85 lbs.

We're told her SUV was spotted by two motorists going the wrong way on the 134 freeway in Burbank. The drivers called 911.

When the CHP responded, Richie was stopped in the carpool lane and was alone in the vehicle. When cops approached the vehicle, Richie was on her cellphone.

Law enforcement officers tell TMZ Nicole Richie admitted she had taken Vicodin and smoked pot.

A preliminary alcohol screening device revealed that Nicole was not under the influence of alcohol.

This is not the first brush Richie has had with substance abuse. In 2003, she pled guilty to heroin possession. The charges were dismissed after she completed the terms of her probation.

The CHP just informed TMZ the department will not release Richie's mugshot.

Her reps were not immediately available for comment.

A good deal of the time, it's easy to get "bookmarkable" links out of web forms like this if you're running Firefox or some other "real" web browser. You install the Web Developer extension for Firefox, go to the web form in question, and select "convert POSTS to GETS" from the Web Developer menu. There's many web-weenie specific reasons why this won't always work (server-side setups that distinguish between GET and POST methods, state being stored in cookies and other places above and beyond the URL, etc.), but it works for me >50% of the time without any conscious thought.
